Lineages in Djottin

The Bunti Lineage Finally Makes It's Presence Felt in Djottin.

The Djottin Community of the the Noni Sub Division has an interesting history . Apart from the Bojale Royal Family, the community is made up of lineages. At the head of these lineages are the Sub chiefs (kibay plural Bibay). The Bunti lineage is one of the lineages that plays a pivotal role in the Traditional Governance and stability of Djottin.

This lineage hosts the site of the Foundation Ritual. A ritual that continues to be at the centre of Djottin’s mystical existence and survival. In addition, the lineage also hosts the Edow Ritual. This is a mystical site that is believed to be the core of Djottin’s survival . Djottin Oral Tradition recounts with pride how water taken at this site performs miracles . The story of the Eleweh Rituals and the surrounding mystical powers remain like a fairy tale.

These lineages have produced great men and women in all walks of life.

It therefore comes as no surprise that the Sons and daughters of Bunti finally decided to take their rightful place in the building of a new Djottin. Guided by this desire, they constituted themselves into a CIG and the shock waves are already being felt. Plans are underway to elect a Bunti National Coordination  Team some time in March 2023.
