Littoral Remains the Backbone of DADA National
-Anthony Ndikaka Soge
Anthony Ndikaka Soge, one of the major assembling forces
among Djottin people in the Littoral Region has unequivocally stated that DADA
Littoral remains the backbone of DADA National and has called on Djottin people
in the Littoral to heighten their commitment in contributing towards
development initiatives in Djottin. These declarations were made recently in a
press chat with Noni Herald Newspaper in Douala.

Mr. Anthony Ndikaka Soge intimated that Djottin people in
the Littoral Region were more united now than ever before. DADA Littoral he
explained had greatly increased. Hear him; “at first we used to have only one
DADA branch in Bonaberi. Today we have eight active branches in the Littoral
Region. These include Compinya, Souza, Bonaberi Bali, Airport, Edea, Massoubou,
and PK 30 Carrefour Tonder. We also have
two active Women and Youth Wings. Above
all if you happen to go to these various areas that I have mentioned you will
notice that there are family meetings and even Quater meetings”.
In a message to the newly elected National President of DADA,
Anthony Ndikaka Soge advised that as a leader she should learn to accept
criticism and become a better leader never retaliating to criticism. “I advise
the DADA National President to listen more and talk less. She should listen to
everyone and should never manifest anger.”
He further stated that Joint DADA Littoral has been the backbone of DADA National for decades
and has always contributed in all development projects or initiatives back in
Djottin. Amongst other things he mentioned the just ended DADA Elective Congress
in Yaounde during which Littoral
contributed financially. He equally referred to the back to school project
which was initiated by the new President Mrs.
Mary magdalene Nyanyoh Tar.
Contributions from DADA Littoral for Development fund and
water levy has always been collected and sent in during National Congress
sessions.
Mr. Ndikaka explained that money is regularly raised during
fundraising initiatives which always come up annually in the month of July.
During this annual rendezvous, an amount is always voted by the General
Assembly to support development initiatives back home in Djottin.
He however regretted the fact that DADA Littoral had not carried out this annual
exercise for passed seven years because
of the prevailing security situation in the North West Region.
Quizzed on the major challenges of DADA Littoral he said one
of the major challenges was the low turnout in some of the branches.
Another challenge he said was the fact that some families hold
their meetings on the same day as DADA Littoral. This problem he said could be
solved if families reschedule their meetings.
The immediate challenge being faced now he said was the
construction of the DADA Littoral Hall. “It must be mentioned here that we are
through with the foundation and our next target is to raise money and start
erecting the walls. I am pleading with each and everyone to support this
project for it is DADA National property.”
Mr. Ndikaka said for DADA to become a better organisation,
it needed to be restructured from the branches to national office.
He equally suggested the introduction of contribution cards
further explaining that people could be levied according to the quality of
their jobs and pay packages. Contribution cards could therefore be classified
in categories such as; working class, non working class, students amongst
others.
A sensitization campaign on the importance of donations to
development needed to be carried out among Noni people he said.
“It is the backbone to community development and we need to creat awareness in people about
donating. That is why project
realization is very slow. Our people don't yet know how to donate. We donate to
create an impact and not to fulfill an obligation” he said.
He further called on
all Noni to stand as one in order to accelerate development.
